About us

SpaceChariot started as a conversation, grew into a scoping study and now we’re entering our public-facing pilot year, launching at Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

In 2026 we are working with four amazing children’s authors to develop resources to support 8-12yr olds to try their hand at writing something inspired by NASA’s image of the day, submit their creations to us and follow our journey as we work with partners to take them into space.

Submissions will open later this year, alongside our virtual library shelf of recommended books about, or set in, space. Subscribe to our newsletter to follow our journey.

We aim to inspire the child in all of us to write something, read something, listen to a story or draw a comic.

Suggestions of new routes to explore are always welcome — we are especially keen to keep adapting our offer to be more inclusive and engaging, and to continue to work closely with the voices and opinions of children and young people as we plan our next missions.
